Location: Mt. Sterling, IL
Department: Accounts Receivable
Reports To: Accounts Receivable Manager
Your Role: The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for identifying and contacting customers regarding past-due invoices, and processing and resolving customer deductions.
Determine the appropriate action that needs to be taken to resolve the deduction including contacting the customer or an internal department to gather further information needed to resolve the issue
Contact customers regarding past due invoice
Other duties assigned
Follows and applies standard work and work instructions
Role Specifics:
Schedule Monday-Friday 8 a.m. 5 p.m.

We Need You To Have:
High school diploma or equivalency degree required
Proficient written and verbal communication skills
Considerate interpersonal skills with internal and external customers
Basic computer skills, including ten-key and keyboard skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and e-mail
A dedication to eliminating waste in all areas of the position

Ability to work independently as well within a team environment and manage multiple tasks
Effective mathematical skills
Knowledge of general accounting practices, preferably with accounts receivable, billing, or bookkeeping experience
Committed work ethic
Knowledge of office equipment (fax machine, PC, copy machines, etc.) and office procedures such as filing

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
